Say what you will about Donald Trump’s campaign, no one misunderstood his campaign slogan… ”Make America Great Again.” At a time when two-thirds of the electorate thought the country was headed in the wrong direction, it struck a responsive chord. It clearly stated what he wanted to do with the job if he got it. He ended the campaign with the same slogan he had the day his campaign began.

Mrs. Clinton, on the other hand, had several slogans — all designed by ‘committee,’ ‘group think,’ and subjected to extensive focus group testing. Blah! Blah! Blah!

The first slogan was “Hillary.” Sorry. Voters don’t care about you. They care about what you are going to do for them.

Then came “Breaking Every Barrier.” Sorry. Voters don’t care about your barriers. They want to know what you’ll do to break their barriers.

She ended the campaign with “Stronger Together.”  A lot of people who’ve been left behind the last eight years never quite understood what that meant.

And what is the lesson for those running for office? Think of it this way. Your campaign platform is like a six pack of coke. It needs the plastic thingy to hold it all together. The BEST campaign slogans clearly state what you are going to do for the voters, what makes you uniquely qualified for the job, or why you are a better choice than your opponent. Your campaign slogan needs to say something and mean something, in 10 words or less. And one more thing. Slogans done by ‘committee’ suck.
