Case in point. Every Republican in Washington knows Donald Trump for what he really is. And they will privately admit that his conduct is an embarrassment unbecoming of a leader in the free world. Few Republicans have the courage to say it.
Case in point. Every Democrat in Washington knows that their party is devoid of ideas, totally captive of interest groups that brook no dissent from the stale creeds of yesteryear. Few Democrats have the courage to admit it.
Case in point. Both parties know that the dark money now filling the coffers of political campaigns is a mortal threat to democracy. No one is making a serious effort to stop it.
Case in point. Both parties know that gerrymandered districts have filled their caucuses with clowns who think governing is a food fight on talk TV. Try finding a politician in Washington who wants to fix it.
We are not a nation moving forward. We have no immigration policy, income inequality is growing, entitlements are bankrupting the Republic; endless wars consume our treasure; We are drowning an entire generation in a red sea of college debt; American children lag behind lesser countries in reading, math and science. It is of this that Empires fall.
It has also created a country hungry for fresh faces and new voices in the marketplace of ideas. People with the courage to speak their minds; people of character unafraid to challenge the established order; people willing to lead when others can’t or won’t. It is of this that rusting Empires rise again.
