If you debase the conversation, you debase yourself.
If you spew hate, you will be hated.
If you advocate violence, violence will visit you.
If you demean the family members of your opponent, you demean yourself. Once you have ruined your reputation, it becomes hard to restore.
If you defile those of different races, religions or ethnic groups, you defile yourself, your campaign and the reputation of your supporters.
If hatred, violence and depravity are your path to power, hated, violence and depravity will be your constant companion, and it will spawn a depravity devoted to your early demise.
In The Prince, Machiavelli writes that the means of acquiring power determines whether you shall keep it.
In the season of forgiveness and redemption, may we all remember the clarion call of our better angels, and use our God given talents to lift the lives of all God’s children.
