Never has it been easier to create a two to three minute video, offer voters a compelling message and overnight become a credible candidate for office.

Never has it been easier to raise money from millions of small donors willing to support worthy candidates.

Never has it been easier to run for office thanks to new tools invented over the last few years.

This year, a lot of candidates will be elected to office who shattered glass ceilings and broke down barriers thanks to the revolution made possible by social media.

There is also something that has not and will not change…

Those who rose from nowhere were candidates who developed and offered a compelling message. Doing that is part art and part science. How to tell your story, share your fundamental values with voters, how you communicate your issue positions, what you say about your opponent, and how you say it.

Those who do that well, win elections. Those who don’t, lose.
